Best mic at the best price

(1/2) > >>

Jamie:
I dont want to drop a bunch of cash but was wondering if a better mic would have a big difference in sound quality. Any suggestions on brands and models?

fatcat:
Depends how professional your needs are.

Amateur youtube shit, don't spend more than $40

If you're planning on being a freelance voice actor or something, then you should look more in the $100-200 range.

Getting the right mic for purpose is as important as getting a high quality mic.

If you're doing vocal work I hear large condenser microphones are best, but I'm no expert in these things so you're better off asking around some audio forums

Rode NT-1A. About $200. I love mine. Get a foam windscreen for it.
