Best mic at the best price

I dont want to drop a bunch of cash but was wondering if a better mic would have a big difference in sound quality. Any suggestions on brands and models?

Depends how professional your needs are.

Amateur youtube shit, don't spend more than $40

If you're planning on being a freelance voice actor or something, then you should look more in the $100-200 range.

Getting the right mic for purpose is as important as getting a high quality mic.

If you're doing vocal work I hear large condenser microphones are best, but I'm no expert in these things so you're better off asking around some audio forums

Rode NT-1A. About $200. I love mine. Get a foam windscreen for it.

Get a cheap mic and spend your money on a mic processor. Symetrix 528, or PreSonus, Aphex.....

I've heard some amazing voice work on cheap stuff like Studio Projects, and Behringer

If you want to use it for making podcasts and suchlike, I would highly recommend the Blue Snowball:

USB powered, comes with tripod stand, $72, read the amazon page for more.
