I'm trying to read Speaker for the Dead... but it's like snail racing fun in principle and fine when there's nothing else, but otherwise it's just not gonna happen.

I loved that book. But I've always been a fan of heady sci-fi.

I hope you read Ender's Game first.

Yeah, I really liked Ender's Game, which is why I picked speaker of the dead up. It just feels tedious to read in parts.

I read Xenocide first, so maybe that's why I liked Speaker so much - it explained things. Xenocide is a damn good story, even though it's not as action-packed as Ender's Game.

I'm a raving fan of Sanderson's work.  Have you read Elantris?

I just finished Brisingr this morning on my "lunch" break (I've been on overnights again).

That is really neat. I've not seen that site before. Thanks!

BTW, you'll like Storm Front. Since it was Butcher's first book, it's pretty neat to following his development as a writer while reading the next books in the series. I handed Storm Front to Mr. Joy about five weeks ago, and he's followed it up with Fool Moon, Grave Peril, and just started Summer Knight. Normally doesn't read so fast, or as much fiction, but he had a couple weeks of little sleep right around the accident and installation of metal plates in arm.

Has anyone on here read "Naked Lunch"? I've seen the movie and it was amazing. Disturbing, powerful and fucked with my head in ways few movies have been able.
