Shaw's functional illiteracy strikes again.  I understand that you understand that that wasn't me, I'm questioning whether the incident really took place at Porcfest or if you just made that up.  Not that I care.

And the only thing on my breath is garlic.  Lots and lots of garlic.  If you ever find yourself in an ending-of-Silence-of-the-Lambs scenario with me, as you probably will, you can just fire at the smell of garlic.  Damn, I shouldn't have just told you that...  Now I'm screwed.

More seriously, I've attempted to make methaglin twice, and both times failed miserably.  Either I didn't clean out the fermenting containers well enough or methaglin just tastes and smells horribly anyways.  I've been wanting to try again but just haven't gotten the courage/energy to throw 30 bucks into the trashcan due to my own failures.  I have been studying yeast in school and understand all of the mechanisms that take place in the fermentation of wine, but I just can't seem to make my own half decent honey wine.  I will try again soon though, this thread has got me motivated to do it again at least one more time.  I'll update in a month or so when I decide my wine is completed and give it a taste test.

When the taxes went up on alcohol in the UK my friends made the rice and raisin wine.  They swore it was the best and easiest to make.  I have thought of making some myself but don't have the supplied right now.
