Actually, the stability issues have been improved. And rendering is as compliant as Opera these days.

I may have to check it out again.

I still like how Opera seems to be the fastest browser around when I click on a link.  IE and Mozilla are just slow by comparison.

The people I've been helping out in the past few years have all reported that I somehow "fixed the Internet" by having them try FireFox with the "Ad Block Plus" extension.

I use The Hosts File Project http://hostsfile.mine.nu so I don't see much change personally, but if you want random subjective "speed of the Internets" reports, there it is.

You've never tried Google Chrome?
I did, as I said above, and I found that it was unstable and had memory leaks, just like Mozilla.

Yeah, they probably killed their IE with addons and shit.

I use dyndns for my dns service which not only adds security but also speeds up the click speed it seems.

Windows 7 is an excellent OS.  I don't see a reason not to upgrade to it.  It's much faster than Vista, has more features, and has never crashed on me yet.
