Why Do I Love This Guitar So?

Just picked this up at the local guitar shop. "Danelectro Deadon '67". I feel like a 7 year old at christmas and have no idea why. My Les Paul and Strat are ten times the machine this thing is but I can't get enough of this plastic POS. Radio Shack style pots and switches, a wooden bridge and a tremolo bar that looks like a spork from taco bell. I'm still looking for the "Made exclusively for Kmart" sitcker. It sounds like shit on the clean channel but growels just as nice as the Les Paul when you turn it up to 11.

Serious though. I am nearly in tears here. Talked the local shop down to $115 dollars for it. The thing is absolutely gnarly sounding and stays in tune when beaten on.

I'm going to go gaze at it for a few more hours now. brb

Perhaps the reason you like this guitar so much MIGHT be because the bottom of it is shaped like a chicks ass as she is waiting to take some doggie. Its all subliminal until someone points it out...... but then you see it and it all makes sense. Just look at the heart shaped bubbleous curves on that thing. It just screams "take me........ take me now"

I was watching old YouTube GnR stuff.  Check out the axe on Slash.  I never saw this one before, he always has that black one. 

This one has a thunderous sound to it, like B V V V T when he barely touches it.  Probly a fire hazard.

I don't know if there's a connection, but I feel the same way about Glocks.  Everyone else says they're ugly "tupperware," but I think they're sweet.  I see the engineering triumph over the "art."  From that standpoint, it sounds like something similar.

I'm going to make the claim that guitars are like children. Another person's guitar might be absolutely lovely in all respects, but still not as lovely as your own.
