What happened to Red Bar Radio?
« on: August 06, 2011, 01:24:24 AM »

I'm a fan of this show and it turned me on to a podcast called Red Bar Radio.
All day their site http://www.redbarradio.com/ has come up to a godaddy generic site.
Does anyone here know what might be happening?  Am I going nuts?
Can anyone else verify this?

That's weird. I downloaded a show from them a little over a week ago.

My other half (unfortunately) listens to the show on a regular basis...far as I know it's still around.  Strange!

You're not alone in wondering what happened to Red Bar. Very strange, and obviously intentional. The RBR Facebook page is on lockdown (you can't even comment on older posts), The Red Bar Comedy Club website (which I would assume was hosted along-side redbarradio.com) re-directs you to a fanfueled profile.

This is all very strange, and it's not easy finding a place to talk about it online.

If any body can provide any info... Where did RBR go?

Paul Tevis Well clearly Mike is still involved with The Comedy Bar, all the graphics look like his work. So maybe Kyle isn't involved anymore? But why would Mike change the name? That doesn't make sense. Red Bar is his thing, not Kyle's.

Tom Jansen We'll just have to wait and see. I'm hoping he is going to put out an update or something.

Well after a lot of time and effort in trying to find a reason behind the Red Bar Radio disappearance I am no closer to having an answer. The word press site was working a few hours ago and is no longer available due to a pass word block, but I did view it before and it had a lot of hear say ( from a insider hmmmm Tim from Boston?)  and I don’t believe most of it but the evidence is stacking in favor of distention of the ranks in the Red Bar Radio hierarchy and I for one am surprised to some extent. The Marc Maron show didn’t happen , Mike supposedly took money ( Which I think is BS but who knows ) , the fact no one is friends with Mike on face book , the changing of the comedy club name. All this points to the show being broke up for good at least in the original aspect.

But I’m curious what you all feel on this page if the empire did collapse what side are you on, Kyle or Mike?  I am going to make the first vote for Mike he is the show and the driving force behind it and I hope if he does need his fans he reaches out to us  soon for support.

Don't just sit in the corner eating a bnaner post any info you have please.

Viva la NF revolution!

Lewis Rhine released a statement saying that he heard Mike was spending more than his cut from the club. I'm not going to jump to any conclusions but that sounds about right. Mike complained on a few shows about the 50/50 pay deal he and Kyle had. He seemed to think that he deserved more than what Kyle was making and that may have been true but it wasn't the deal they agreed on initially. Mike also said he was trying to change that deal but Kyle didn't want any part of it. Mike was also buying a bunch of gear for his Weezer cover band. It all adds up.

Everything Red Bar was in Kyle's name so that Mike could avoid the tax man. That's a lot of trust to instill in someone... One would think you wouldn't want to piss someone off who has that sort of power over your company but greed can make you do stupid shit. If Kyle really wanted to be a huge ass hole he could probably sue mike and fuck him over hard. I hope he doesn't and I don't think he will.

Everyone who has been listening to Red Bar for a while knows that Mike has some character flaws. The whole Dean and Katie thing... I have a feeling there's much more to the story that makes Mike out to be the villan. Regardless, as a listener, I don't really care who's in the right. I like Mike from what I know of him. I think he's hilarious and talented and that's what matters most. Even if he did rip off Kyle, I wouldn't really hold it against him. It may change my overall perception of him as a person but I'll keep listening.

We're all witnessing Red Bar history. I hope Mike will bounce back from all of this with a vengeance. James Fritz unfriended Mike from facebook which I'm guessing means he took Kyles side just like he took Brido's girlfriend's side which sparked the brilliant Chainz bit. I never liked that piece of shit anyway. I'm sure they all have their own story of what happened and I hope we get to hear them in the near future.

The "official" place for info is http://whereisredbarradio.wordpress.com/

For now, it's the same as the link above.
