That Texas law makes my blood boil. As a expat its one of those world knowing stupid ass things that is just embarrassing for a American.
I don't know about dildos, but me and my wife like vibrators. I have little respect for someone who gets jealous of a damn tool.
If you didn't, really do watch that video. It's bizarre, hilarious, and incredibly disturbing at the same time.
First of all, because I am mentally 12 the continuing references to the "penal code" in this context make me laugh.
But also, it's just boggling to watch the proceedings from the Texas state house. If you're embarrassed to even read the legislation you want to introduce....perhaps you
shouldn't be introducing it? Perhaps people's private sexual practices are none of your business?
It just gets more and more surreal as it goes on. Hanging people for anal sex? Really? Especially amongst opposite sex partners if they're married, because married people would never want to do that? Really?
The video is from 1993, but the Texas state GOP has recently adopted a policy for their platform that they want to
re-instate a ban against sodomy. Never mind that it was declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court in 2003 in response to a case coming
from Texas, meaning that any attempt to re-create such legislation would be an incredible waste of time and money. They don't seem to be bright enough to comprehend that their social conservatism stabs their fiscal conservatism in the back.
I miss Molly Ivins. An unabashed liberal, but a clever, witty, cunning lady.
