Christmas tamales?  What are those?

Tamales are the traditional Christmas dish in Mexico. And, more and more, in my neck of the woods. The Mexican grocery store down the street is churning them out like crazy right now. I've considered picking some up for Christmas Eve, but we already have a traditional pre-holiday meal: fish from Ivar's, a Washington State fish place.

And they are mass produced.

What do they just make one or two?

Perhaps I didn't mention that Mexicans tend to have huge families. For example, my mother has 13 brothers and sisters. And on my wife's mom's side she has 9 brothers and sisters.

I'm making fresh chunky salsa right now, so am eating lots of sweet grape tomatoes and roasted corn as I'm prepping ingredients.
 :D
Can't wait until we're roasting pears in ginger. Sugar coma from overdoing the sampling of that and the gingerbread dough will follow.

I've just come home from the Xmas celebration at my aunts. We had all the traditional shit; ribs, meatballs, sausage, ham, sauerkraut, potatos. I'm fuckin' stuffed
