Kenneth: I see your point, but I thought "intoxication" was something that only happened after you drink enough to start throwing up.

I don't drink alcohol much.

get after it, boy
whilest the gettin's good
ya ain't gettin' any younger
might as well twist it up some

Alcohol is poison.  (Not that I won't occasionally enjoy a red wine or a margarita.)
Everything is poison if you get too much of it. But alcohol is beneficial in moderation.

Not that I disagree, but the way it works is intoxication.  By comparison, you can't properly call imbibing pot (in a healthy way) intoxication (because it's not a toxin.)  Of course, they confusion was probably generated purposefully.  Yes, I am aware and agree with the benefit of intoxicating oneself with a minimal amount of red wine on occasion.

good man...red wine in mod.= good for the cardio

medicine, my good man
jesus turned water into wine...if it twas bad, hed'a done it tother way round, no?

The way I've heard that reasoned, was that Jesus drank (and conjured) the "good" wine.  That is, the fresh, unfermented (or less fermented) wine.  This sorta makes sense to me, regardless of the puritan context.

lies!!
philistines have fed you lies!
jesus drank the good shit
i know...i was there

The common misconception is that "wine" meant grape juice whereas "strong wine" meant actual wine. Rather, wine refers to wine. Strong wine refers to a distilled drink. Anyone knows anything about Hebrew culture could tell you that they drank wine at weddings.

I'm pretty sure I said "the way I've heard it reasoned."  I didn't profess it.

I know, I was addressing the position itself.

In biblical times, there was no refrigeration. Grape juice spoiled really fast. Alcohol was used to preserve it. Is this a difficult concept??
