The state is illegitimate, the actions done by the statists are their own actions. I don't vote for pragmatic reasons (I'm lazy and find television more important), but I don't really attach a moral sentiment to it.

I dont see voting as evil. Its just a waste of time.

Its just something people do to feel like they did something that counts.

Kinda like praying.

Yeah, voting in self defense, however fruitless, is not evil. Establishing a state, however, is. I'd also say deliberately and voluntarily supporting it (that is, without coercion) is as well, but like other subtle forms of societally-backed evils, it is an understandable transgression we might hope to encourage writing into past history.

How local? Wouldn't it always be a waste of time unless there is a significant chance that your one vote would alter the outcome? I know that the boys on FTL like to bash voting in federal elections, while some of them vote in state elections. Seems to me that you are far more likely to win the lottery than alter the state election.

When I wrote "waste of time" please understand that I know preferences are subjective and there is no such thing as an objective waste of time. I am simply equating not being able to alter the outcome of a vote as a waste of time.
