Just to clarify things I would like to say that I personally disagree with around 99% of all laws that exist in this country. This does not make me or anyone else "not subject" to them just because I don't approve. As far as the exact subject of this thread , I think that the principle of Civil Disobedience is a sound one, but the tactics used here had the effect of making the Free State / Free Keeners look like a bunch derelicts that just don't want to be a part of "civil society". The FS & FK movements are a tiny fraction of the NH and Keene populations, and the only way to implement any meaningful change towards what is viewed as a freer society is to gain the support of the general population. Hanging out in the park smoking weed and drinking beer will get used against the "movement" every time by the Powers That Be. In order for Civil Disobedience and Protest to work you need to carefully choose the battles and tactics to make people see your side of things. Simply getting arrested for breaking laws that most people at least implicitly agree with is counter productive and calling it "protest" is quite a stretch indeed.
