The fine came in the mail today.....$229. That is more than $20 per mph over the speed limit.

I was looking at the Alabama laws, and you can get 10 days in jail for speeding. One thing I read said first time offenses are not supposed to be more than a $100 fine.

The rest of the time I was in Alabama, 80 mph was the speed for the normal flow of traffic.

Been down here much? I've seen plenty of bass-ackward folks in places like New Joisey (even have TV shows about how lame they are), NY, MI... hell... all over the damned place. Alabama doesn't exactly have the market cornered on backbirths.
