Made gnocchi from scratch with the kidlets, since it's a rainy afternoon.

Not sure I'm doing that again soon. Tasty, but my kitchen looks like a flour/egg/mashed potato explosion.

Me: What do you want for dinner? (about an hour ago)
Mr.: Lobster Mac & Cheese
Me: Seriously?
Mr: No. I have no idea what you have in the house, or what I want for dinner, so I just threw that out there.
Me: Not helpful. Not helpful at all.
Mr.: ....and your point would be?

Not necessarily true. Depends on how much praise is lavished upon the cook, who happens to be mincing vidalia & garlic, to be sauteed in butter with chunks of lobster. Gruyere & extra sharp cheddar are already grated, penne is simmering, and I'm currently deciding between using heavy cream or evaporated milk.

I agree. Yum yum.

This sounds great, too.

I'd actually rather have either of these than a super heavy cream & lobster dish... but I'm cooking tonight's meal out of spite.

Butter, cheese, heavy cream, lobster... no poison needed. It's a heart attack waiting to happen.

So Mr. Joy had better eat, and like it?

Gruyere & extra sharp cheddar are already grated

With lobster? I would go towards a "sweeter" direction.

I'm trying a martha stewart recipe I found online. I also have mild fontina, which should melt a bit smoother than the others, but that had to be put in the freezer for 10-15 minutes before grating. Nutmeg & cayenne pepper are going in, so I'm thinking everything is to offset the sweetness of the lobster. I may play with it next time, but I'm following the recipe for today.

I think its hardcore that you have lobster on hand to cook. It makes me think if he would have asked for something like zebra steaks, an hour later you'd be serving some for diner
