Gnocchi & Roasted Cauliflower.

The children are staging protests in advance.

Don't use the good china.

I'm jealous.  I made 2lb of spaghetti on Sunday that I've been working through.  This is my life.

I made chicken and mushroom fettucine.

It was fine. One loved it, one tolerated the dish, and one ate the bare minimum required to get a turkey sandwich.

I bet that was a fantastic meal. A little envious, even though my supper was quite tasty.

Ooh! Thanks for the idea. I bought a big pack of mushrooms at Costco the other day, and was trying to figure out how to use up the last 1/4 of the package. This may be just the thing. Kids won't be eating any of the mushrooms, but that's okay, because I won't be eating any of the chicken.

I pictured these little tow-headed ruffians with hats crushed in little fists, saying "Collyflower, mum?  But, we were good t'day..."

Big blue eyes, coal streaked faces.  very Dickensey.  Gas lamps, for some reason.

Dude, I just posted in the recipe thread asking if you had a recipe featuring cauliflower, then saw this.  Would you be up for sharing?

You got it. I think I even got a decent photo of it.
Will post it tonight, after I get the kids to bed.
Had a house full of 3rd grade girls after the 1/2 day of school, and am worn out.
Dinner tonight is plain old turkey basil burgers. It's all I have brain power for.

Creamy Risotto and Roasted Shrimp w/Thyme.
Broccoli & Cauliflower on the side.

Don't know how it'll turn out yet. The oven roasting part is different - not sure of the timing. (Have a double oven now, so am roasting & broiling more than normal.) I usually cook the shrimp, veggies and herbs on the stove in olive oil & butter.

Spaghetti. Hey, it's Columbus Day, and the traditional holiday meal is spaghetti.

I also celebrated by hiking in the nearby state park and exploring some new trails.

I considered spaghetti for Columbus Day. Then I remembered the next batch of spaghetti I make will be a sweet potato & ricotta thing. Really did not want to have that battle with the kids tonight, after hours of dealing with water seeping up through crack in basement floor.

Cool day for new hiking trails, though. Great idea!

Aren't you the savvy shopper?

Must have been a BOGO thing this week or something, because my daughter was looking through the flyer in the store and whining constantly - I mean asking ever so sweetly - to try to get me to buy the stuff.
