I made an exquisite meat sauce for pasta tonight, with meatballs.  Its heavy on green peppers blended smooth to give a green gardeny flavor.

I'm gonna serve it to my peeps tomorrow, with big hunks of Italian bread, a green salad, and broken angel hair pasta.

I've been inspired.

we've been eating the shit out of cucumbers (small, pickling size) & plum/roma tomatoes
x-virg. olive oil, white balsamic vineg., salt, pepper, fresh basil, sometimes thin-sliced,fresh mozzarella...
that & fresh corn...i'll eat that stuff(&did), every nite...

excell. slather for corn-on-cob: (kinda southwestern) i tend to go lite on the butter (altho, nothing beats real butter on corn) & mix in x-virg.ol.oil as a supplement.
way better for you.

(measure depends on how many ears, obvious)
this works for 3-4 ears:
1/2 tsp. of each:
garlic powder
salt
pepper
chili powder
cumin
add 2 tbsp butter w/ 3-4 tbsp oliv. oil in micro (5-10 sec. max)

mix well & spoon over your cob....
i always use a couple paper plates for corn...you kin wrap em round your cob & spin to maximize coverage...
crunchy goodness.

Chicken and Spanish rice.  I put some cheese and sour cream in mine when I eat it.  Also, some fresh corn on the cob.  I might scrape it off and see if it goes in the chicken and rice well.

Bought 2 lbs of fresh figs at the store yesterday, so it's going to be a figgy week around here.

Tonight:
Sirloin with roasted garlic and figs

Not sure yet what else I'll be doing over the next few days, but one dessert is in order, definitely. Maybe I'll stuff the figs with cheese & herbs to accompany a big salad?
At any rate, it's safe to say this little bout of kitchen experimenting is not one the kids are looking forward to.

It should be fun. She is going to cook at a friends house and I'm going to cook at our house. No time limit, just a deadline. Then we are going to have our friends judge it. :) We'll see what happens, I don't even know that many dishes that use grapes.

don't forget grapeseed oil, too.

Try using red or white grapes in a recipe in place of wine, with balsamic vinegar and herbs.
You should get a really good sweet-savory flavor.

They'd also be good cooked into some sort of dressing, to offset spicy sausage - just like you'd use apples or cranberries.
