I couldn't believe this, but the corn on the cob was way up there among the best I ever had.  I was flabbergasted, its friggin February.

The trick with fresh corn is to cook it as little as possible.

Tonight shall be teriyaki angus sirloin steaks, fire grilled.  Debating if I should do "tinfoil potatoes" or just regular baked.  For those not in-the-know, 'tinfoil potatoes' are sliced with onion, butter, salt n pepper, wrapped in tinfoil, and baked over a fire (on the grill).  Also doing white corn on the cob.

Its summer cookin' above the arctic circle.  I have to dig my way out to the grill.

---

The steaks came from a butcher in a farmers market.  Aged, marinaded, and vac-sealed in heavy plastic. I also got two pounds of the best smoked kielbasi you'll ever taste, three stuffed cornish game hens, hand made chocolate dipped pretzels, and a bottle of Da Bomb one-million scoveille hotstuff.

i must've missed the invitation in the mail

Yeah, this.

Fuck, that sounds tasty.

Yeah, turn it off as soon as it starts, pretty much.

BBQ Chicken, Green Beans, Chunks of red & sweet potato roasted in foil w/butter, salt, pepper & chopped garlic, and slices of honey oat & whole wheat bread, straight out of the oven.

It was really good. I ate too much.

I made two chicago style hotdogs (or as close as I could get) and they were delish. Didnt have relish, had to substitute ketchup for tomato and jalapenos for the other kind of peppers but I had onions and mustard. Also 2% milk, my favorite.

That's how my grandmother taught me to cook it.
Specifics: Bring water to a boil with a tablespoon each of salt & sugar. Drop in fresh corn. As soon as it comes back to a boil, cover & remove from heat. Don't touch the pan again until everything comes off the grill and it's time to serve.
