Bumping this thread because I made something good (for a college student at least) tonight:

A little sesame oil in a saucepan, then put in some peanut butter, let it melt a bit, added some mixed veggies and ham. Added the pasta which I had been cooking concurrently, balsamic vinegar, let the acetic acid (largely) boil off, then ate.

Sounds interesting.  Less the ham, of course.

I had ramen.  Bleh.

I ate ramen and cup a noodle so much in college I cannot even take the smell of it anymore, and it has been 4 years.

Yeah...wasn't so great, obviously.  But it was fast, and didn't require me to put on real clothes and go out in public.

Chili.  I made it.  Buttered crusty bread.  Didn't make that.

I had chili.  Except mine was from a can.  And I has no bread.

Yours sounds much better.  What do you put in your chili?

Ginger Sesame Baked Tofu and Edamae Succotash, with a side of Fried Rice.
I can smell the shallots around the tofu in the ginger marinade beginning to carmelize.
It's almost time to pour some wine and eat!

Sometimes I use steak, that turns out good.  Broil it, cut it up in little tiny chunks.  Thats the bomb.

I have to say...tofu does not sound appetizing at all.

Will your kids eat this?

I used to think this, but after trying it, I like it a lot. Depends on what you cook it with.

What do you put in your chili?

Beer, wine, and day-old coffee.

No, I'm not kidding. Try it.

This sounds lovely to me.  Wish I could hire you to cook for me for a week; you come up with such good stuff!   :)
