Mine is usually canned vegetables and instant ramen.

Or canned sardines and Ramen.

Occasionally followed up by a delightful dessert of canned fruit.

You should get a rice cooker.  At least that way you could alternate your carbs.  If you live near a city with a Chinatown, go to it and find a market where they sell 20 Lb bags.  It's extremely cheap and super easy to make.

This.  And get some chicken.  Chicken and rice is cheap, easy, filling, and has at least some nutritional value.

There's no money for it at the moment. Seriously, we're poor.

Hmm.  I'd at least take the rice suggestion.  At least it's something different.   :?

There's lots of rice here as it is, I just like eating wheat noodles better than rice.

No brown rice though. Brown rice with a little butter and vegetables is amazing.

Grape Tomatoes, halved

For those who care, we *did* go grocery shopping earlier, so when I have dinner it's gonna be some kind of "tuna skillet meal" (think off-brand Hamburger Helper)

Yum yum yum.

That's so horribly cheap.

Tuna Helper has got to be one of the most horrible post-war inventions ever created.

Pretty much this.  My mother's idea of cooking is Hamburger Helper, which is also a horrible abomination.  This is why I learned to cook when I was very young.

I made some HH Beef Stroganoff the other night. Hadn't made it in about a year. It was OK. It was better when they had the seperate sour cream packet, though.

Yeah, but you have to get the rice spooge out of it first.

That's the kind my parents make.  And yes, it was a little better with the separate sour cream packet.  But it's still not great.

It's about 165% better than Tuna Helper.

It was fun mixing that sour cream shit up and taking a lick off the spoon. I could eat it all day.
