Boobies are a reason to like this forum.   :P

Liberty loving women with brains are another reason to love this form, and liberty loving men, but not all of them have brains.

Goodbye, old friend...

I thought if I could endure bullies like John Shaw becoming mods then I could endure here forever, but they've finally crossed the line.  I can't post here anymore, I just can't.  They've stolen 4 years of my life, and I have none left to spare...

Tell me about it.  I consider it a badge of honor to be on Shaw's ignore list.  I have been on this forum since 2005 and have averaged about 2 posts a day.  But I look at it like old magazines or newspapers sometimes the horders house just needs to get cleaned out.   If I wasn't interested enough to revisit the threads as a reference in the last 500 days then was it really that current or relevant.

It would have been nice if they had created an archive of old posts on an old hard drive or some other storage media.  No real need to continue hosting the bandwidth for it.  And at some future date it could have been burnt it to cds for sale.  Or done a best of the old bbs posts cd.  Both ideas would have had to wait until the resources were available to do so.   I suspect that it might be regretted that the bobble head animation is potentially lost.   I did have a lap top hard drive destroyed by a toddler.  But most bbs threads concern current events and as such once no longer current their usefulness goes into sharp decline.

Look at it this way Alex there is always google cache isn't there?

Obvious troll is obvious.

Also, he'll be back. Of course he's made a death threat, so...

It would have been nice if they had created an archive of old posts on an old hard drive or some other storage media.

The posts are likely still in a backup that hosting companies usually perform routinely. Older backups won't be around forever, but for now there might be an opportunity for someone to grab 'em.

I still don't see what the big deal is though.

He links to a thread about avoiding personal contact because its a waste of timeand money, and then goes on about all the time he spends on this forum...Am I the only one that sees the irony here?

[...]  Look at it this way Alex there is always google cache isn't there?

Unfortunately all search engines (including those that specialize in forums), Archive.org, etc totally dropped the ball...

The good news (and the reason why I'm still here) is that there does seem to be backup.

<<<Hasn't said a word to or about Libman in months yet still takes the blame.

Then you're gonna love my FK forum hissy fit thread - I've even blamed you for things you only might have done.   :P

Listen, after a few days of hysterics and then finding out there was a backup after all, I'm starting to feel a strong sense of reconciliation, regeneration, and predestination.  It's a religious feeling, almost.  I've vented all my hatred, I have none left.  Something good is about to happen.  Can't we all just get along?

Because I believe this intellectual process has value.  OK, it's not as intellectual as it once was, but that's the reality of where I am right now...  How many open source nervous breakdowns do you come across, especially onces as meticulously documented?

I can't post here anymore, I just can't.

Juliet:
'Tis almost morning, I would have thee gone—
And yet no farther than a wan-ton's bird,
That lets it hop a little from his hand,
Like a poor prisoner in his twisted gyves,
And with a silken thread plucks it back again,
So loving-jealous of his liberty.

Romeo:
I would I were thy bird.

Juliet:
Sweet, so would I,
Yet I should kill thee with much cherishing.
Good night, good night! Parting is such sweet sorrow,
That I shall say good night till it be morrow.

Romeo:
And wouldst I be remiss,
In parting, to whisper in thine ear
These two sweet words,
from my heart to yours-
Also, cocks.

Juliet:
Yes, thou wouldst.
Thine reemergence maketh me hurk,
I retch in your foul odor
And contemplate the stabbing of your face
With steely daggers
For I have no penis with which to rape
Your big giant faggot face

Romeo:
That is heartbreak, my love.
Your lack of penis
With which to rapeth my face,
I would lend you mine
Were it detachable
For your happiness is my purest desire

Juliet:
Then tear free your wilted child loins
And gift them to me
So that I may shove them back down your gullet
If that is thine wish
To satisfy me, and thereby satisfy yourself
With your cock-stuffed face

Romeo:
This charade, I can no longer tolerate
Thine happiness is not my interest,
For you are a cunt,
And nine kinds of stupid.
My cock is important, and you are not

Juliet:
Asshole!

Romeo:
Indeed.

[end act III]
