The Shrine Should Be Based on Gender

   I was just thinking about the shrine of female listeners and how it is biased against people who identify themselves as female yet were born as males (or other). Maybe the shrine should be based on someone's gender identity rather than thier biological sex. It is not very libertarian of us to discriminate against someone who may have different beliefs about what being a female means. I know that this website doesn't belong to me and I don't get to dictate the rules on the shrine but I would like to let my opinion be heard.

I was under the impression that the point of the Shrine was as backup evidence that such-and-such a percentage FTL's listenership was female, for demographic statistics used for selling advertising. If so, it doesn't matter how a person *became* female, just that they *are* female.

Of course, there may be different desires (about things they like to purchase and their lifestyles) between natural women and transgendered women but, statistically, almost all advertisers don't care about that - they just want to know "how many women will listen to my ad?"
