Why aren't babies born with more instincts?

 How does instinct work?

They are. Their brains just haven't developed to the point of realizing them yet.

Its like having a nitro system on your car without the wires hooked up.

Also humans dont rely on instinct as much as other animals due to our process of teaching our young for many years. It has helped our species adapt better over the years thankfully.

Humans are very instinctual.  Infants rely entirely on instinct to survive, even with nurturing.

For instance, they have a suckling instinct.  Without that, they'd starve.  Babies who won't take the nipple WILL die in nature.  That is instinct.

They have a facial recognition instinct, peoples deepest memories are often their mothers faces.  This is why sometimes kids won't "take" to a babysitter.  It's an instinctual throwback to danger, and not taking nourishment from potentially harmful people.  Their cries are an inarticulate way of saying "rescue me from this foreign tribe".

They have a "falling" instinct, which can be seen by playing "whoopsie" with a baby.  They'll fling their arms out in a steadying motion, even before they have the ability to walk or crawl.  Sometimes it'll be observed during dreams, when they fling their arms out like "WOAH!" and then wake up crying.  In nature a simple injury can lead to death.

They'll cry when they shit because it can lead to infection if left uncleaned.

A lot of the instincts you'd normally recognize as survival instincts are worthless when a child is essentially a human worm.  You can't expect them to get up and walk like an infant Jackie Chan, defending themselves from complicated dangers.

The higher primates develop slower because of longevity of the species, and ultimately they aren't viable for reproduction until sexual maturity, which in the physical sense doesn't occur until their early teens.  If they physically can't give birth, everything before that is learning time.

And thus, the instinct mechanism is identifying danger and satiating nourishment to allow them to reach that purpose.

Yeah, I never have been able to shake off that tit sucking instinct either.

With a beer, if he's so inclined. I'm sure he'd be relieved to never speak of it again.

Is there a real-life porn re-enactment of the joke The Aristocrats?

If not, why?

Are introverts naturally attracted to extroverts, both in friendship and romantic relationships? I feel like I need someone to get the conversation going, or I'm constantly uncomfortable with the situation.

Seems to me, an introvert would be attracted to other introverts as far as romantic relationships go. I'm speaking mainly of introverts who have accepted who they are and have no desire to change. Why would some introvert dude want to date a chick, like some Paris Hilton type cunt who has a million friends who go the the clubs every friday night? Wouldn't that be a nightmare for the introvert? Seems it would be very uncomfortable for him and her as well when her friends are asking her "why is your new bf just hanging out in the corner by himself?"

I dont know, thats just how it makes sense to me. I myself dont like crowds that much but dont consider myself an introvert. Its not that im intimidated. It irritates me more than anything. I can deal with them and fit in if I have to, but its just not my thing, so I tend to be attracted to more introverted types in both friends and romantic relationships.

For instance, I could go to a wedding or something of that nature with my gf and after we leave she tells me people say to her, "OMG Mike is such a funny guy, seems like so much fun to be around. A bunch of us should get together and go out sometime." and im sitting there just cringing at the idea in my own head. Sure it was fine that one time, but it was more like work for me than anything. Not something I would want to make a habit of doing. I like small groups of not more than 3 or 4 people. Thats where my comfort zone is.

I suppose an introvert who wants to change might be attracted to an extrovert, just as someone who they feel might help to bring them out of their shell a bit.

Theres usually a dom/sub thing in romantic relationships.

In platonic relationships, it's more peer-oriented.  Birds of a feather.

Its pretty unusual that you'll see two meglo-doms in a romance, they'll probably clash too hard.   But two subs probably not so uncommon.  They'll probably establish a pecking order among themselves, could go either way.  If it's two subs, the dominant sub is probably determined by default, and the lesser just by bein.. lesser of the two.

It saddens me that you equate submissiveness with being lesser of the two. I guess you mean less dominant. Submissiveness is a very positive trait depending on how you look at it. A very submissive person can inspire the dominance in another just as a very dominant person can inspire the submissiveness in someone.

I usually find myself in romantic relationships with extroverted women because things rarely move along with an introverted one.  I'm generally introverted myself (depending on my mood I can be very introverted or bordering extroverted), but I'm not submissive.  I also enjoy being in a relationship with an extroverted woman more because she usually has more friends than I do and they invite her out to do stuff to which I can tag along if I want.  It's like getting surrogate friends without expending any effort finding them.  I have my own friends, but outside of tennis and playing tabletop RPGs we only hang out a few times a year.
