I assume there was a lot of politics behind the KJV.
Bingo!
Kinda makes the in depth discussion of all of it kinda pointless, doesn't it?
Not being a smart ass about it. Its just a valid point that really cant be ignored. Faith is one thing. Basing belief in a religious system, based on a book that had a lot of politics behind it is quite another.
Well, that would take care of your view of Protestantism, but what about the other canonizations? You could dismiss each as having been influenced by politics, but unless you know, you don't.
Then again, you could counter that by saying that the politics behind any would be the same because human nature doesn't change.
But, a believer would counter THAT by saying, yes that may be true, but his canonization was divinely inspired, which leaves you back to where you were before.
Plus also, I asserted that there was politics involved, but I am admittedly ignorant about Christianity. Really ignorant.
