Nobody heard anything about this guy till he died. The youtube channels are filled with nostalgia though, which is unfortunate. His way of life is mostly not better than ours. There is a reason why there are so few of them left, and only the toughest have survived.
I began posting here about the guy right around the time he was arrested, even requested that the hosts have him on the show or at least get his story out there. Nothing came of it though. The was some talk of him on whisky blogs/Asheville news blogs- about an even split between people for him versus support of the law.
I know it ain't likely that anyone reads all the posts on here though and I'm not calling you out or anything- I just have a sore spot over the way this guy went out with what seemed to be very little support whatsoever.
Hey man I thought it was interesting. I just don't have a lot to relate. Unfortunately we don't have much heritage in that area of expertise out here in SoCal. If you want to learn about smuggling people across the border though... j/k
Say wha...?! They're still doing the smuggling thing? ...I thought by now they knew the trick- just get close to the Minutemen guard posts, raise a flag and play the Star Spangled Banner and hop the wall while the guards are distracted
