I can see a practical use for something like this.

Having said that, I'd probably not use it.

I enjoy driving too much.

There are any amount of  uses. Taxis would become cheaper, for one.

One implication I heard about is that it could do away with the need to even own a car. When you need one, you order one. It shows up at your house, takes you where you want to go, and then comes back for you. It could save you lots of money. Instead of paying for something that spends 90% of its time sitting in the driveway, you only pay when you need it.

It will be YEARS before you see these things on the road. The government will fuck it all up.

They'll claim that much more testing needs to be done before such a thing can be trusted to drive down the roads un-manned, which is actually true, but the govenrment will take any realistic testing period and multiply it X 10.

Just watch.
