but in where else would you have activists that will go to your court case and back you up???
You know, those activists could actually hurt your case.

The thing that pisses me off most about FTL is that ian makes it sound like the FSP is mostly composed of people "going to jail for freedom"
In fact it's the other way around, the supermajority of FSPers don't do CD, especially not as their primary form of activism.

No they don't.  They hang out with each other.  That right there is worth a move halfway across the country.

Quite true. I can never quite grok why people uproot their whole life, move across country, and then won't spend 5 minutes to shoot a quick email or phone call to their State Rep telling 'em not to pass a seat belt law, for example.

If the FSP didn't reach it's projected goal of 20,000 members by 2006, it was supposed to be disbanded.

I call this "The March of Dimes Effect".

Quote
Not only did they not disband, (Fine, whatever, have a redo.) they never removed all of the people who agreed to their original date of project completion from the roster of participants.
The contract ended (Yes, it was a contract originally) and they kept the participant number and just kept chugging along. They also refuse to remove people from their membership, and hassle them if asked to.
I am one of these people.

Dear John,

Just a quick note to let you know that we received your registration for
the Free State Project.

You think that's weird, I joined the same time you did and later they kicked me out (the ONLY person ever kicked out without violating any of their Rules), and they still have me counted in their list and send me mail and stuff.

Yes, FSP is a religion.

So is know-nothing Anarcho-Capitalism (I've always been a gradualist).

So is Free Talk Live.

And so is this BBS.

(And the new high priest here is about to take Phariseeism to a whole new level...)

I thought you were going to try to improve your reading comprehension skills in your primary language?

And, re "lush" - I've probably consumed less alcohol in my lifetime than the average person on this forum has already this year.  For 20 of my 27 years I haven't had a single alcoholic drink.  I haven't had one in months.
