So it's a guilty pleasure... I used to love watching the Academy Awards when I was younger, but now it's a very mixed feeling to fight back the nausea as the socialist Hollywood inject their political stupidity into everything they touch... (And by this I specifically exclude Michael Moore's anti-war speech in 2003, that was awesome. It's most of his other work that I have a problem with.) Maybe Al Gore winning the Oscar for his steaming pile of bullshit disguised as a documentary should have been the last straw, but - meh... Sometimes I feel that I should focus on the positive with some things and just allow myself just a bit of mindless enjoyment, or else my life will be complete and total hell... So I'll try to take some time away from coding and trolling and have fun tonight. I've also never streamed a live event online before, always preferring to wait for the torrent, but there seems to be
plenty of ways to do it tonight.
I've only seen a couple of the movies nominated for Best Picture.
Avatar is obviously the favorite, and it's not as politically offensive to me as one might initially expect.
Inglourious Baste
rds was OK, but I probably expected too much and got a lot less. I was really impressed with
Up, (in spite of anthropomorphization of the "talking" dogs), so that's probably my favorite.
