Terror squad arrest over model rocket

Can you imagine the field day they would have with a reloader from the US with residue on his clothes????

Quote:
Quote
In his final police interview, CTC officers suggested JFL's refusal to decrypt the files or give them his keys would lead to suspicion he was a terrorist or paedophile.

"There could be child pornography, there could be bomb-making recipes," said one detective.

"Unless you tell us we're never gonna know... What is anybody gonna think?"

The 'explosives" that started all this was 9 nanograms..

Do you know how much nine nano grammes is? It is 0.000000009 grammes.

WTF?

He could have child pornography in his pc and thats reason enough for him to submit decryption keys?  Isn't the burden of proof on the investigators for finding information, and not on defendants for supplying it?

What? Is that like cracking open a safe just to find another safe inside?

Yeah I thought that was hilarious too.

Britain is dead.  And we're following them there.  The only thing that gives me hope is the complete and utter failure due to government incompetence described so well in that quote.

With respect to people using nongovernmental services to get things done? I want to believe, but doubt it would happen. People would have to have a sea change of thought as big as letting women vote to understand that the government is not their social battering ram.

I've had like 4 gigs encrypted at any one time, I can only imagine how they would freak out. Then after cracking the two different encryption schemes they would only find my source code. I was playing with the encryption, although I think it would be really cool to setup on the fly encryption on my hard drive considering people these days seem to have no trouble looking at my hard drive.
