Tax Resistance Olympics
« on: December 31, 2009, 06:03:32 PM »

I call for the establishment of a semi-annual athletic competition to counter-balance the socialist "Olympic games" held by the governments.  All events shall touch upon physical and mental endeavors that would empower the athletes to be Swifter, Stronger, and Higher(?!) in his or her personal defiance of government tyranny!

An initial roster of events shall include:

  • Shooting & Firearm Maintenance - no detailed explanations should be necessary.  All targets will feature life-sized images of presiding politicians and other government enablers.  You get extra points for making them suffer.

  • Paintball - the most libertarian of all team sports!  But instead of simple "capture the flag" events, all scenarios will have an anti-government theme to them: defend yourself while fleeing a gang of spooks through the New Hampshire woods, ambush a convoy of police cars on their way to arrest a tax resister, rescue an abducted child from the clutches of the CPA - you get the idea.

  • Car-Free Migration Super-Marathon - a long-distance endurance event lasting 2 whole weeks, to be offered in two categories: by bicycle or on foot.  Contestants will travel on New England back-roads, carrying a heavy backpack, walking or biking as much as 16-20 hours a day, and lose points for staying in motels that require them to show ID.  A junior variation of this contest will cap the daily transit time to 5 or 10 hours.

  • Civil Disobedience Gymnastics - going limp and having multiple pigs carry you to their pigmobile is far more difficult than it looks!  Disobedience experts shall be consulted prior to each contest to ensure the most realistic simulation of actual real-world events.  Prizes will also be awarded for the most believable performance when it's the contestant's turn to play the bad guy (i.e. arresting officer, jailer, or judge).

  • Sleep-Podding - do you ever find yourself just not having the time to listen to your favorite libertarian podcasts?  No problem, train yourself to listen in your sleep!  I often fall asleep while listening to podcasts, and I find that my recall of what I've heard keeps getting better with experience!  So this Olympic event shall have the contestants fall asleep (as verified by the latest in brainwave-measuring sciences) and listen to 8 hours of brand-new libertarian podcasts that were released while they were being monitored by the event judges as as to guarantee that they don't know their contents.  In the morning the contestants will be given a test on random parts of those podcasts, with multiple choice, fill in the blank, and written quotation answers.

  • Feats of Agricultural Productivity - being able to grow your own food is crucial for any successful tax resistance movement, but the events covered at the Tax Resistance Olympics should not overlap with the events held at any typical County Fair.

These ideas are of course still in their infancy.  Please let us know - what sorts of contests would YOU like to see (or take part in) at the next Tax Resistance Olympics!

For those that work for a wage.

Reclaiming One's Wealth Event.

Providing verifiable proof of retaking ones wealth that is stolen via the Income Tax or other taxes. This event should be held in secret with some way of verifying the judges are not feds themselves which would defeat the whole point.

I don't think it's ever possible to be 100% sure someone isn't a Fed...

OK, since I've sworn off defensive violence the events roster has been thinned out quite a bit...  Less shooting and more hand-shelling beans for speed and accuracy!
