I just lost a major client thanks to the pinko commie policies of the City of San Francisco. But it's ok, because that client IS the City of San Francisco. SF has this weird rule that any company that does any work for them, in my case screen printing police and fire uniforms and rec clothes, has to fill out stacks of paperwork showing that everyone in the company is being paid what SF considers a "living wage" which is way higher than what CA considers a "minimum wage." The actual result of this is that businesses are far more inclined to hire undocumented immigrants to keep costs down, which I have absolutely no problem with, it's just funny to watch the policy fail. But it also means hiring a part time clerk to deal with the bureaucracy. Guess what, increased overhead means increased cost to the consumer.
Today the city decided our prices were too high, which is entirely their fault, and outsourced the entire project to a company in Wisconsin, not because we couldn't complete, but because, being outside CA, that company isn't subject to this stupid rule the city imposed in the first place.
Good job government. Way to be looking out for your constituents.
*facepalm
