Hmmm. I wonder if it's the temptation of the form for the local vandal, or if they suspect the obvious waste of taxpayer money and nosy questions the banners represent might not sit well with folks.

Wouldn't it be legal for someone to rent space on the building behind the census balloon and place a banner in the windows telling people that the Constitution only requires a head count and no personal information?  Not that I think that is the wisest use of anti-census money.

We got our form in the mail the other day.
One thing's for sure: I'm putting down my religion as "Jedi".

Not sure what else I'll do. On the one hand I have taken no steps to preserve privacy to this point so I don't see any upside to refusing to fill it out. I figure on filling out the basic 5-minute info and anything else I charitably feel like answering. I sure ain't gonna sweat filling in every field.

Religion?! You must've received the long form. I got that 10 years ago, and was called repeatedly when I just sent in the basic info. This time, it was the form requesting just number of people & ages. And something about whether or not there are additional people who sometimes live at this address, but are currently in the military, college, prison, etc...

My plan is to mark just the number of residents, teabag the form after working out, and send it in. Very similiar to the process I use to fill out my taxes but I generally keep my nuts in a zip lock bag for a week striaght before I teabag the 1040.
