Actually, Chartarum is just a movie. The new movie from Think Twice Productions.
It is a lighthearted take on the horror genre, evoking the spirit of such films as Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Night of the Living Dead, The Andromeda Strain, and other classics of the same... Mold
Chartarum follows the story of ELI, an everyman and small business owner that, through no fault of his own, becomes enmeshed in the machinations of an evil force trying to take over the world, one person at a time.
ELI and friends uncover the secrets of this evil plot, only to be discovered...
Leading to the inevitability of an explosive confrontation between good and evil.
Chartarum is growing, and it is in control...
WHAT WILL BE IN THE FILM:
ACTION –
An exciting final confrontation between our human protagonists and the forces of violence and control in the form of ??? infested madmen.
HORROR –
We witness the horrible infestation of the human body by ??? that drive people mad with power lust and an insatiable appetite for violence.
COMEDY -
Wry humor and ironic observations help to dull the sharp edge of the horrors our heroes witness throughout the course of the film. Pop culture references abound.

We won't dumb this story down and we won't insult your intelligence.
HERE'S WHAT WE NEED:
PRIMARY ROLES:
1.ELI – A business owner and born leader. Quiet but thoughtful.
2.SAM(antha) – An accountant for Eli and a firearms enthusiast. Nervous but competent. The girl next door, only with guns.
3.FRANCES – A doctor of sociology turned janitor due to philosophical views. Designated ass kicker.
4.MILTON – A brilliant scientist who stumbles upon the big secret of the monsters. Unlike other “detached scientists”, Milton has street smarts.
5.JARROD – Sam's brother, a “Professional college student” and general waste of space. (Does good in the end)
6.SCHUMER – A questioner and gadfly, who betrays the heroes for his own gain. A very bad man.
7.“SPOOK” – A leader of the monsters. Power hungry and erratic. Very belligerent screamy type guy.
SECONDARY ROLES:
1.MOM – A mother (of SALLY) who has just lost her home due to foreclosure. Upbeat facade but scared for her family.
2.DAD – Father to Sally and Husband to Mom. A good guy who is taking the family to his brother's house in Chicago until he can find work.
3.SALLY – A precocious child with a big mouth and a good sense of humor.
4.Monster - HOBO (MALE) – A monster street person who attacks another street person.
5.Monster - HOBO (FEMALE) – The unfortunate victim of a monster attack. Becomes a monster herself.
6.FRANK THE BUM – A street person who takes the monster attacks in stride. Possibly schizophrenic and definitely prone to larceny.
7.Monster – DAVE – An off duty policeman who also happens to be one of the monsters. Not a very nice guy. Menacing and creepy toward a female character.
8.Monster – GOON 01 – One of two monster men who intimidate and then attack MILTON at his laboratory. Fairly competent. Falls and hurts himself.
9.Monster – GOON 02 – One of two monster men who intimidate and then attack MILTON at his laboratory. A total schmuck. Gets stabbed in the hand with a pencil.
10.Monster – ALLEY STALKER (MALE) – A monster who attempts to attack an innocent woman in an alley. Meets MILTON who happens to be testing some hypotheses about the monsters. Hilarity ensues.
11.Monster/Victim – ALLEY VICTIM (FEMALE) – A woman who was probably minding her own business and harming no one. She is an unfortunate participant/bystander when MILTON tries his mojo on the ALLEY STALKER.
12.Monster – TED – The contact among the monsters that SCHUMER has been communicating with. A very bad man who likes cigars and nighttime strolls on country roads.
13.Monster – STEVE – The right hand man to “SPOOK”. Somewhere between a toady and a lapdog.
EXTRAS:
1.Monsters – DRONES/ZOMBIES (As many as we can get) – Unfortunate, mindless victims of the monster menace. Hordes of violent monsters who lumber around and get blown away.
2.Monsters – THUGS (Two to four) – The henchmen, along with STEVE, for “SPOOK”
3.PEEPS – People who are living with and helping the heroes. Good guys. (Five to ten or so)
CASTING REQUIREMENTS.
The film will be finished in three shoots. A nine day PRIMARY SHOOT and three one day SECONDARY SHOOTS.
The Primary shoot is on location at a 40 acre property Southwest of Cadillac, Michigan. It will take place Saturday, September 5th through Sunday, September 13th, 2009.
PRIMARY SHOOT: ELI, SAM, FRANCES, MILTON, JARROD, SCHUMER, “SPOOK”, PEEPS, DRONES, THUGS, TED, STEVE.
Secondary shoots are scenes that are totally separate from the movie proper. They will be dated TBD, within two weeks of the Primary shoot.
SECONDARY SHOOTS:
1.OPENING SCENE/TEASER – MOM, DAD, SALLY, HOBO (Male), HOBO (Female), FRANK THE BUM
2.A DAY AT THE OFFICE – ELI, SAM, FRANCES, DAVE
3.MILTON GETS HIS GROOVE ON – MILTON, GOON01, GOON02, ALLEY STALKER, ALLEY VICTIM, A COUPLE PEEPS
IMPORTANT LOCATION INFORMATION:
The primary shoot for the film will be on a large (40 acre) property near Cadillac. The location consists of a rustic, OLD house, a newer pole barn, and not much else in the way of accommodations. The house has plumbing but is not particularly comfortable. (It's yucky and old.) The pole barn (A steel walled, concrete floored garage, basically) while being a set for the film, can also be used for lodging as well. We just want to make it as clear as possible that the only other alternative is getting a place in town on your own coin, or camping out on the property, which will also be an option. Of course campers, trailers, etc will be welcome. Everything has electricity, and there will be hookups available. Shower facilities
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION:
This film is an action horror type deal. There will be both real and toy guns on the set at certain points, and firearms will be discharged at a target range. People who have concerns about guns should consider this. There will also be flame throwers, chainsaws, and all sorts of other bloody implements on set.
SPECIAL NOTE TO PEOPLE INTERESTED IN ANY ROLE MARKED “MONSTER”
You may be asked to be covered, splashed, doused, or immersed in all sorts of sticky, difficult to clean liquids. The film is gonna be a slime fest, so please be aware of this fact.
