Just came to think about it. Why don't we have a shrine of male listeners as well?

This has been brought up many times in the past. The reality is, nobody wants to look at pictures of men.

One reason I can think of as to why they have a shrine of female listeners but not one for men, is due to the widespread belief that women tend to favour big government and the socialist nanny state that goes with it. The shrine exists partly to counter this stereotype by showing that there are actually a lot of women that like libertarian ideas, and their numbers are growing. I also think that's the reason that FTL gives preference to female callers. Personally I have no bug up my ass about either of these and I'm not exactly what you'd call a pansy-assed male feminist mangina. On the other hand, I'm not a ranting and screaming mens/fathers rights activist either.

I do think there is some truth that the majority of libertarians are male. We have a libertarian group in my city. 2 are women.  Our group is made up almost 100% of business people. I think I am the only one in academia (not to be confused with the education department).

Um, no offense but if you bothered to search you would find other threads discussing this.  If you read those and still have any questions you can post a reply there, and then all the comments to the same subject are contained in one subject thread.  In this case , all you have to do is look about 5 posts down from yours today and there is another "male listeners shrine" post...  although they spelled "listeners" correctly in that one.

When you create multiple threads of the same topic not only does it bother those who have already discussed the issue, but it separates that discussion from your comments so no one can read the pro / con arguments that have already been hashed out.  And when you misspell the title, as soon as your post falls off the front page, it will be totally useless as no one will even find your post ever again in a search.   FYI.

On an unrelated note.. i went to that shrine of gay listeners page.. Lindsey is gay?

Then there is the sense of humor factor. Have you really thought through the types of pictures males would post? When I thought about whether I would post a picture, the first thing I though of was a picture of my ass.

Bullshit.

I'm guessing not bullshit.

1990ish.  Camera had films in it back then.  Large ones.  Plates.  You'd hold this big flashing torch aloft, clockwise, and this cube would go off, right by your eyeball.  Burned your retinas for a week.  Then you'd trek on down to the photo-hut, give the big reel-to-reel Film Holder to Jessy Marie, who would develop it for a quarter.

I know, I'm talking about the address of the picture.
