Sam's Media Coverage
« on: May 18, 2009, 07:50:04 PM »

This thread is to list the media coverage Sam's hunger strike has been getting, and for me to just generally be a prick about Sam and the NH lib movement as a whole, or at least the delusionally optimistic ones. Dennis Goddard is a notable exception.

Sam on Fox news
Ridley Report
Keene Sentinel
Daily Paul
Lew Rockwell
Keene Local Radio - FM 104.1.

edit : Post shortened to just media apperances.

I just saw something interesting.

I've heard people state that politics is slow moving and nothing gets accomplished, you're wasting your time blah blah blah.

Yet, from what I have seem from the CivDis crowd is....CivDis that is slow to change anything (if it changes anything at all) little to nothing is accomplished (save the handful of people who have beaten speeding tickets...HUGE increase in freedom IMO) and it's worse than wasting time, it also starving yourself and rotting away in a jail cell.

So there are two different schools of thought...market based activism and politics.  They have both accomplished just as much (actually politics may have accomplished a bit more), but one involves people sitting in jail starving themselves and the other doesn't.

Yet it's the politics people that get shit on over and over again by the "market based voluntaryist activists".

Wise words.

Which civil disobedience has decriminalized marijuana in multiple states in the past 20 years? Or done anything equivalent in terms of freedom to decriminalizing marijuana.

You do realize this is "bashing" of Sam himself right?  It's an obvious personal attack and has nothing to do with criticizing or questioning the methods being used.

Sam and the Keene Sentinel article were talked about a few times on the NH news section during the news break on the Keene area's main talk radio station today.  The station is FM 104.1.

He's a hater. He couldn't drop it in the other thread. Sam inspired me and thats why he's a personal hero to me regardless if he didnt make change. He influenced me doing what he thought best at the time to help further liberty. Calling him a bitch for pussying out this early? fuck I'd love to see you go that long without food. You kept criticizing him for doing something thats worthless so when he lets up you criticize him for stoping when he realizes its worthless. Who's the bitch again?

I'm glad Sam is eating finally.  Hell I wish he'd just move on to their trial, since they're going to have one any way, so he can get on with his life.  Him sitting in jail really isn't doing much good, he's of more use "on the outside".

I agree. He still has my respect for trying when an opportunity came along though.

He's had solid food prior to this?  I thought he was just drinking milk with a packet of instant breakfast.  That's not really eating in my book.

Your book is wrong.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eating
Quote
In general terms, eating (formally, ingestion) is the process of consuming food to provide for the nutritional needs of an animal, particularly their energy requirements and to grow. All animals must eat organisms in order to survive: carnivores eat other animals, herbivores eat plants, and omnivores consume a mixture of both; see feeding.

I don't believe in the gospel of wikipedia.  If all I did was drink stuff, I'd still be hungry.

Milk is a solid.  Can't drink it on a liquid diet.  So is tasty nutrient pack.

So his "hunger" strike is a fraud!

Oh well, at least there'll be more freedom.
