There are a lot of people here, and Rob is not the only one - that don't seem to be grounded in reality.  They live in a fantasy world where they overthrow the government, refuse to use FRNs, nitpick about DRM on a CD, stuff like that.  Jesus Christ, I want the same things most of us do, but I'm not willing to compromise my ability to live to get them.

I'm really sorry about that.  Some of us think we have a right to receive what we were told we were purchasing.  I didn't know it compromised your ability to live.  Oh, the hyperbole!

What you just did there - that was hyperbole.  Seriously, you need a sedative or something.  All I said was that I think you're goofy.  It's not really an insult, and I'm not calling you names.  I have respect for a lot of what you put forth here - that just is not one that I agree with though.  It's very simple.

What I meant there, I should have phrased a bit more specifically.  When I said I wouldn't compromise my ability to live, I was thinking of people like the Browns, or the Kannings, or Lauren Canario.  I'm not going to land myself in jail for a good long while, or have the feds surrounding my house all because I want to champion the cause of liberty.  There are ways of doing things that allow you to keep your home, your job, your family, etc.  And still buy any damn music you want.  :-P

Well, I'd male a poll, but it doesn't take a majority consensus for me to know that Rob is a fucking nutbag batshit insane violence peddler/promoter.

If there's anyone on the BBS who I've butted heads with that I'd be concerned about showing up at my door and trying to plug me, it's him. No one else.

Not that I actually think that he'd do that or anything. I'm just saying is all.

I have a paranoid streak in me.

This paranoid streak tells me to be wary of him for one of the two following reasons:

  • He is operating in a stool pigeon capacity, a subversive agent for the 'other side' who positions himself as a radical in order to attract and befriend people who have opinions similar to the ones he portrays in this arena.  He got himself in a whole shitload of trouble somewhere, and was flipped like a rat.  And he's terrible at it.  But as terrible as he may be at his task, he has the inroads unavailable to his handlers, and is wacky enough to produce results and some intel by association.

  • He is dangerously off his rocker, and would make a suitable candidate for Lee Harvey Oswald training.  This place is, for certain, monitored by feds (if not penetrated).  They will have noticed this trait and will no doubt pay attention to his activities, which puts him back into the above category but without his direct willing participation.

Either way, he's toxic.

guess it takes one to know one...

Exactly.  Thats why I go to all the events and activities and capitalize on all the acquaintances I've met here, and bend over backwards in an attempt to remain within the good graces of the more ardent supporters of the Project and its satellite causes.

Starting tomorrow.

Bwahahahahahaha!  Refreshing.  Thank you.

These are pretty much my thoughts on him too. We all know the Feds aren't too bright, so them hiring a nutcase shouldn't be surprising. Only guy on here I know for sure wouldn't fuck me over is BJ, and that's because I've met him. It would take me about five minutes to trust Brasky, Shaw, Lindsey, rabidfurby, etc once I met them. I don't think I'd talk to Rob were I to get the opportunity. Brasky makes a very good point that people that act like idiots might as well be Feds.

(That was incoherent. Need to get more sleep.)

wut the fuck?
i don't make the 'list'?

i think this rob dude would be invaluable in an end-of-world, societal breakdown, fending off looters/jackboots & thugs, oh my.....and zombies (a nod to shinyvandal)but when the dust has settled, & you're nestled in the underground bunker one night, & you've bent over the coffee pot burbling on the sterno-stove, or reached for a can of cling peaches in syrup, BAP-BAP!!!! rob delivers 2 to the back of your head.
your bunker is now HIS bunker...he doesn't need you anymore... he earned your bunker....and your cling peaches in syrup, and your chef boy-ar-dee ravioli (a nod to shaw)
& rob doesn't own a car/house/land/bunker....so am i stretching it here?

My bet is that he has zero experience with actually dealing with any sort of SHTF situation, (Of any kind, violent or non violent) and would either follow a strong (Maybe smart, maybe dumb, but strong.) leader and be a spear carrier, like Roger in Lord of the Flies, or the whip dude from Army of Darkness - A follower who is also a vicious thug.

Or he'd just be too paranoid and proud to accept help, run off on his own, and die of exposure with a battered copy of Field Manual 21-76 and a flint rock clutched in his hand after three days.

NHAT is a poser.

I'd like to know where this "professional training" came from allofasudden.

More likely than not out of his ass.

Thanks for the setup.  :P
