Nah, people like that should have a half inch of their finger chopped off with a butter knife, then let it heal real good and start the process all over again until there are no arms left. What if they felt really really bad? Then would you let them off the hook? Murder is murder, and capital punishment is the answer, because its the ultimate punishment for the ultimate theft, and feelings do not matter when it comes to justice.

So you believe every criminal fuck who doesn't care if he lives or dies should get a free spotlight on his way out?  It would be a much more effective deterrent to give the victims (or their inheritors) a share of the murderer's custody and put him in a private prison where they specialize in incentivizing such people to work to earn as much restitution money as possible for their victims (while also being accountable to public opinion to avoid excesses of cruelty).
