I'm not a HD guy, but it seems like a good enough trade. The bike has little to no appeal to me, but for some reason people think they are worth tons of money.

Sounds like a decent trade to me.

It's the name, and to some extent the sound. Honda's and shit can't get the exact sound, but they're getting better. Only thing that sounds better is a custom. Both will put a dent in the wallet too.

You have a loud motorcycle and take it to a residential area between 9pm and 6am or with some of them, at all, ever, you're an asshole. HDs are for people who want to dress like pirates and piss people off. Maybe it's just me but there seems to be a lot of people figuring that out and a lot more practical motorcyclists on the road these days.
-
Dollar for dollar, its probably a thing to consider, because I doubt people would be lining up to spend fifteen grand on the truck.
Not that it's not a cool truck, personally, I'd rather have the truck. But the pool of potential buyers is probably appreciably smaller of serious cash-in-hand buyers.

this is pretty much my opinion on the matter as well. You can probably more easily sell the hd for a better price more easily than the truck. But id rather have the truck and a different bike...

I STILL want one of these mah-fuks. Cant justify spending more on one than I would a house though. :(

that's precisely my reasoning.
we're headed into winter, and 2 things are glaringly clear:
1) me & bike owner know few people are buying fair-weather vehicles in late oct.
(i've had to leave the blue truck outside in winter, cuz the barn is full (green truck, backhoe, shit), bike will fit in unfinished shop area of basement....easy-peasy (walkout w/ double doors)
2) old truck still needs some shit done to it, and the buyer's market for these is already thin......add-work culls that herd a little bit further.....
bike (low-ball trade-in value) is worth MORE than the truck, and needs nothing.
i'ma ride it round a bit, in the spring (pirate garb n' all)....shine the bitch up & put it out in front of my shop......major thorofare in/out of town = shit sells

One of my customers has one. I can ride his Busa or his Triumph or even the Rune if it suits his convenience but I've never asked to get on any of them and I highly doubt I'll ever get on the Confederate.

Take that fucker up the coast, probly get hassled by the fuzz.
Wake up in a haze of sweat and cheap perfume, bruises in mysterious places, missing a boot.
Thrash open the curtains of the cheap motel room, to look outside! And the bike is parked right there, neat as a pin.
haha.
-
....the story continues...
4 rooms down, in the same low-down dirty-shame, dustabout motel, you will find a cheap, knock-off gook-wanna-be-harley-v-twin, darkened by the crimson-blackness only old blood can give tellness to, littering the fakeness exposed by a wanna-be biker....his life spilt upon a faggy replica......
it's japan/made-by-chinee twin-pipes twisted methodically about his neck
never could they replicate the sound of an american v-twin..........
hats off to indian as well
p.s.
i ride the fat boy home tomorrow
boo-yah
-
I've stated so before, though not lately: HD's are gaudy (tassels... tassels!). Which makes Indian cycles totally ghey.
But Dragline's taste in vintage trucks is impeccable.

don you make me ride down dere, pirate patch-n-all, hb, n hafta learn you.
''gaudy''?

-
If its a full-dress Fatboy cruiser, with hard cases and a dashboard the size of my goddamn desk, its gaudy.
But its still worth a big bunch of goddamn money, which trumps all.

dealy should happen this afternoon.
i'm gonna d-day that bitch right thru the living room, when i git it home....
i'm-a play the lone ranger theme song on my wind-pipe with fingerless leather gloves, just for added authenticity

nigga,please
how bout them rice-burnin ''gookers''?
15,000 rpm-ears-bleeding-from-the-high-pitched-screaming-shit-rockets?
h-d's are factory-respectable, decibel-wise.
they hafta be, by law.
now, many owners put aftermarket pipes on, and, voila......loud bike.
in fact, the bike i'm getting has custom pipes w/ 3-way adjustable baffles = loudness/normalness
you've painted the h-d owner with a broad, shitty brush, mah frend

What's your askin' price for Ol' Blue?
