Obama, Bringer of Peace, in Oslo
« on: December 10, 2009, 09:04:44 AM »

This has been quite a day here in Oslo. Your wonderful President, the leader of both The Land Of The Free and The Free World has just been given the Nobel Peace Prize in our City Hall.

It's ironic that such an event has brought our city to a total lockdown. Police officers, armed to the teeth with submachineguns, guard every corner. Gunships hovers low above our fair city. The American police state has descended upon Oslo, and everyone smile proudly, because "we" have awarded the Peace Prize to a man responsible for two wars on foreign soil. The so-called media has played their role as lapdogs by accepting that the Messiah could only be asked one - ONE - question by a Norwegian journalist. Who would be The Chosen One? Of course, one of the government TV station NRK's journalists, Anette Groth. But of course, not even The One Question was answered.

This whole ordeal is embarassing and depressing.

But will Kurt Russell reprise his role? Or is he too old for the part by now?

What do you think this is? Weird shit.

Plasma discharge, if its not a man-made artifact (camera fuzzing etc). If its what people claim they saw, then its explained rather easily by Plasma Physics. Nature, if what I've read is true, tends to favour certain 'shapes' which is why plasma/electrical phenomena often look similar over many scales: from small plasma clouds modeled in labs, up through cyclones/hurricane all the way to galaxies.

It's the Russians.  They reported having a failed ICBM launch from a submarine.  I guess one of the fins failed causing it to spin out of control in the way it did.
