It's great that this triggered an idea for another way for FTL to make money, but I think the original point of this thread has been overlooked: the Internet sales tax.

We might witness something extraordinary in the coming months - dot-com companies making a business decision whether to cooperate with the local governments or to resist them, the latter of course being to the benefit of their customers.  Supporting the companies that resist, even if you don't live in that state, would have a great benefit for the cause of liberty!

You think it's a customer service thing?  I don't.  I think they don't want the hassle of reporting to a bunch more governments (only starting with New York.)
