Strange that a state populated entirely by gay people would be #1.

I guess they all move to NYC if/when they get AIDS...

Healthy people don't necessarily spend less money on health-care throughout their (longer) lives, often the opposite.

You know who spends lots of money on health-care?  Older rich white people with no kids - NH's full of them!

Also, NH has fewer Jews than some places, thus a higher demand for doctors, if you know what I mean, and you're less likely to get sued too.  ;)

That's a very strange list they've got there, because the several times I saw this sort of thing, Colorado was the healthiest state, and they don't even have it in the top five.  I believe Colorado was the bottom (best) in obesity too...and, again, not according to these folks.

Bottom line, I guess, is lists like this are subjective and...umm...stupid.

Addendum
From the site:
Quote
This annual ranking, published by the United Health Foundation, looks at 22 indicators of health, including everything from how many children receive recommended vaccinations, to obesity and smoking rates, to cancer deaths. [special kinds of deaths are kinda like special kinda murders, such as "hate crimes]" (Insurer UnitedHealth Group funds the foundation.) Scores for each state are determined by gathering data from a variety of government and nongovernmental databases and then calculating how much each state is better or worse than the national average for each measure. Click here to see the report. The below chart lists the final results in addition to rank changes in specific categories over the past 20 years.

Sounds like this particular survey has a bunch of leftist-socialist bullshit in it.
