Could be or perhaps it's a convenient way to drum up some lucrative business, with patients whose compliance is enforced by court order.

They convince the court that his behavior can be controlled as long as he's medicated and the patient or social services keeps paying or the patient goes to jail.

It seems like his behaviors were brought on by substance abuse. Even if he has schizophrenia, what evidence is there that, absence the drug abuse, he would continue with his behavior? The diagnosis seems too convenient to not trigger my scepticism.

Without meds within a couple days I suffer from delusions and see patterns that don't exist. After a while, I hear voices when trying to sleep. That's when I start taking the medicine again.

Simply using drugs is not abuse.

With all I've gone through, I highly doubt even without meds that I would start another uncontrolled fire.

Did you have them before the whole delusional episode leading up to the fire?

I'm just curious because I've heard that the meds start to overload your brain with chemicals. After awhile your brain expects the high amount, and when it doesn't get them it starts doing weird things.

I couldn't tell you if they were irrational, or exactly how random they where, but yes, I think so.

As far as I know, if you slowly decrease the amount of medication being taken you don't have as much withdrawal.

I'm not totally for taking medicine, because it does make life less interesting, I just don't want the negative components like thinking people are watching me or hearing scary voices.

I am making a literal recommendation for an addictive psychoactive substance.  And pork sausage doesn't ship very well, but I'm sure it's available in a butcher shop or supermarket near you, often as low as $2/lb for the Spicy Italian variety.  Quality English sausage can cost a lot more.  Stay away from the prepackaged frozen breakfast sausages - you want the real fresh raw stuff.  Goes great with beer, but causes hallucinations in large quantities all by itself.
