My awesome wife just got a new contract for an extra 25k a year.
95k goes a long way in semi rural Michigan yo. We were sitting fairly pretty at 70 to be honest. (Until her contract ended of course)
We were scraping by between contracts for almost two months. Teaches one humility. Feast or famine etc.
So let's break the social taboo here.
How much money do you make? Don't answer unless you pay taxes or don't use your real name, obviously.

fu just because you got paid.....

U JELLY?
Or mad because I poked fun at your dirty 9/11 thread?
:P

jealous of ur income..

This is a kind of dick waving I'd be happy to engage in only in private, with people I trust, and probably only after numerous alcoholic beverages.
Suffice to say, I used my profits in pre-bubble tech companies to buy leveraged silver & gold instruments when each of those metals were half their current price.

Ok, you win this one. Your wife's gotta bigger dick than me. I did pick up another $5/hour switching jobs so maybe I'll outdo her in 2012. Orientation at the new hospital = no overtime for 12 fucking weeks, ruining my 2011 gross. My wife makes more than Mel's husband though ;) Then again, I get 4 days off a week at the new job, had 5 days off/week at the old job - what's that worth :)

I had more disposable income on a college stipend than I do now employing 100 people.
Hopefully, that will change soon.

... when the so-called "developed" world economy implodes, thereby taking your commodities- and precious metals-based investments to the moon?
-
OK fine I'll go first. Why not?
15 this year. 14 last. I'm 22 years old as of last week by the way.
Judge.

Judge.
Nonono. No judging yo.
Listen, technically my personal income last year was eight grand. That was for two weeks of contract work. (Someone wanted a cute car for their insurance company and another dude who just handed me a pile of cash at random via Paypal because he used some art I made for an open source game on his Ipad app. I also get a cut for some ammunition I designed several years ago but I can't name the brand as part of my deal with them.)
I'm pursuing a film making career yo. That means (For now) I work until my eyes bleed for a couple years for nothing but the satisfaction of a job well done in hopes of the bigger money later.
I sincerely wasn't trying to start a brag thread. I'm amazingly proud of my wife and grateful that she sat me down and said "Dude, make some fucking movies and get me rich yo." and supported me through this.
Otherwise I'd be back in a cube making 50-70k but working 60 hours for someone else's dream.

Oh, I'm not worried about you Mr. Shaw. I'm just wondering when the other guys will get the guts to give an estimate of their earnings.
Hey, so my woman went to one of those lousy Avon recruiting things today, and I'll support her in it. She's going to school full time, and she can use this to get a discount on the products or at least as a learning opportunity. I'm thinking now though, what if I went and bought a bunch of fake security cameras, I wonder if the neighborhood would be interested in that. I could put out fliers and such, earn some extra dough maybe.
Oh and whoever last year said that they went and sold coffee & hot chocolate to the black friday crowd, awesome idea.

I was talking to a mid-level guy at my bank the other day and he was saying how they have so many forclosures, they cant keep up with cleaning them out lately. I told him I might be able to help, since I'm self employed and have all the liability coverage already. I could hire a couple of hulking young dudes to go around and do the work and just pull a little off the top for my time. Im too busy with my regular thing to do something like that on my own, but im always keeping an eye out for little side things to fill the spaces. Banker-Boy seemed genuinely interested in my proposal, since it would help him out by coming out seeming like the hero in the situation. I'll let him know within a week or so if its something I want to deal with or not.
Might just be something worth looking into in your area, anarchir. I dont know if you have ever done anything with running a business before, or even have an extremely high forclosure rate in your area, but its an idea anyway.

No clue.
Absolutely no idea at all.

Hmmm from what I've seen we dont have a lot of foreclosures. They're still doing a lot of building around here.
