LP National Convention Coming up in July! (Portland, OR)

It is feel to join the LP.  If you join the LP (the national LP) you are by default a member of your state LP (as long as you tell your state LP about it) and your county LP (as long as you tell your county LP about it).

It tends to cost money to go to any LP Convention.

Yeah, national got ride of it's dues.  It used to be that most people gave to national, and national gave to states.  I gave $100 to national, and do a hell of alot of work with the state.  I don't know if I will give money to the state, because I am the only one that will use it on something worthwhile (i.e. I am updating the website, I edit the newsletter, I am organizing the medical marijuana initiative, and I am helping get good speakers for state convention.)

You want to be arond a bunch of Libertarians?  Save your money and find a way to New Hampshire during Porcfest.  I sure wish I could.  But I would never spend probably $8-900 bucks (after plane, etc.) to watch a bunch of people who want to talk and not take any action.  And yes, I know a place where I can get a free lunch: my friends resturant.  So, go head and go to the convention if you really have that much time.  But then again, if you do, why not go to NH and make a difference?  What will really change more?  Really?

I'm so lucky, I live about 1/2 hour from Portland. I'll be 17, though, hopefully that won't be a problem. Plus I'd need at least $89...

I'm definately not the only one doing anything, but I do have a bit more time to work on these things than everyone else.  My job allows me about 4 hours of free time everyday.  I have access to free cable internet, and I can spend the time it takes to get things done.  I'm lucky I get to work so much on things, other guys in the party do not have that luxery, but still manage to do alot.  Keep in mind that Delaware is small, and we lost a whole county board due to a plane crash, and our state chair moved to Arizona.  Many of the party members are down in the dumps because of all the tragedy we have faced.  I'm working so hard to bring fresh new members onto the scene.
