He was full of shit anyhow. His method of tax evasion was to not buy a house and not buy stuff that had sales tax on it. He didn't actually refuse to pay taxes that were thrust upon him.

Motherfucker had a job and payed income tax.

Most of his schemes, if you read them carefully, are thinly veiled justifications for his own quirks.
