Liberty Promoting Halloween Costumes?
« on: October 30, 2006, 09:49:05 AM »

If you are donning a costume tomorrow for Halloween, or did for a party this past weekend, did you take the chance to mix it with a Liberty/Freedom-minded message?

Historic Patriot?
Anti-Government Fictional Character?
Mocking version of a Government Official?

If I can pick up a torch & crown today at Party City, I'm going to do a modern-day Lady Liberty thing. A blouse that's similar in color to the statue's patina inspired me. Have to work it in such a way that I can wander through my normal day of office, school pick-up, kid's sports & trick-or-treating, but I think I'll mount a segment of "The New Colossus" on a piece of foamcore to carry with me for the day.

I dressed my child up as a Bureaucrat.  He is still a little young to understand what Halloween is all about but had no problem with getting candy.   I couldn't get him to carry the little fake gun so he could be a killer clown.  I don't think I will be able to pick out the costume as he will be making his own choice next year.

LibertyLover - I LOVE IT! My daughter was Dorothy this year, which also happens to be her name.
Figure it's one of the last years I can get away with it.

I never could find the Statue of Liberty Torch & Crown, so was just a mom. I'm ordering a the accessories so that I don't run into this last minute problems next year. I need more excuses to wear this shirt, so it's important.  And, by way of gloating/bragging, note the lack of wiring on my teeth. NO MORE BRACES!
