Just for kicks....  :D

Let's "NOT" vote for FTL on podcast alley.... beyond that, let's vote for the current #1 podcast "Double Feature"... for no reason other than to increase their lead over FTL.

Why??? I would like to see FTL get back to the #1 spot by providing a great product.... not by having Ian beg for votes during the show.

I am sorry, but it is FTL's fault they are falling in the rankings.  The show has become lazy and unbearable recently...

I stopped voting and listening a handful of weeks ago when FTL decided to debate the definition of the word "objectivism" for a month straight. Was the topic important??? Maybe. Did it deserve to have the holy living fuck beaten out of it show after show after show after show? Maybe not...

More recently....

I support the 420 protesters but.... JESUSTITTYFUCKINGCHRIST!!! You can take every episode from the day the protests began, interchange them or shuffle them in any order, and easily realize... You are listening to THE SAME DAMNED SHOW over and over and over and over and over again....

I know this is an important topic, maybe the pinnacle of importance in Keene,  but listening to the same show day after day makes for horrible radio.

So yeah.... the reason the show is falling in the rankings… it has been a complete pile lately…

Here's the direct link to vote for "Double Feature"

Tell your friends  :D :D :D

I was about ready to tell you to fuck off but I have to agree with everything you said.

OK I do like Bruce somewhat, it's a guilty pleasure. Working class romanticism, he drives a Ford and stuff.

He's the Boss!

I like Bruce.  He's a very good musician.  When I'm in the mood for working class romanticism, that is.  I totally agree with that assessment.

Nebraska is one of my favorite albums of all time.  Its just him and a guitar.  If you listen close, you can hear the chair squeak under him while he plays on one of the tracks.  The angst he managed to capture in that album is fuckin artful in its simplicity.

Theres a cool line in the State Trooper track, one of my favorite lines ever written.

Mister state trooper, please don't stop me
Please don't stop me, please don't stop me
Maybe you got a kid, maybe you got a pretty wife
The only thing that I got's been both'rin' me my whole life

He's talking about his dick.  He's driving and worrying about getting busted with no license, going to see his chick.

To me it doesn't really matter if I am entertained by FTL. I am, but I support FTL because of the pro-freedom message. If you are pro-freedom you should support FTL any way you can because it is the only show like it out there. If we support FTL and it gets more and more popular maybe there will be other shows like it that will eventually compete with it and you will find a show you really like.

Until then I think we should support FTL and if you have criticisms let them know. Or better yet call in and be a "song" yourself. :-)

Ian: "We have a caller on the line. Hello Caller, what's on your mind?"
Caller: "Talk talk talk. Talk talk."
Ian: "Talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk."
Mark: "Talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk, talk talk talk talk talk talk talk. Tal-"

Ian: "Talk. TALK TALK TALK."
Mark: "Talk talk."
Caller: "..ta.."
Ian: "Hold that thought caller we have to take a break."

Ian: "Talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk."
Ian: Talk, talk talk talk talk talk talk talk, talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk talk."

I will respectfully disagree as this is the point I was making regarding "just voting" to inflate the ranking numbers ...

I do support FTL and agree with the message; but, inflating a turd to a #1 ranking will not do as much to spread the voice of freedom as you think. A quality product will promote itself. It will naturally become popular and spread the word far more effectively.

The hosts have the potential to be great at what they do... they have just not flexed it as of late. The threat of being knocked out of the #1 spot is welcome competition in my mind.

As far as me calling in to voice my song... I would not add anything to the show. I agree with the hosts most of the time and my call would be nothing more than 3 guys of similar mindset agreeing with each other. These "preaching to the choir" type of calls are far too frequent on FTL and are one of the things that can make it stale.

FTL needs more Pam and the bitter old stop sign nazi that called a couple nights ago.

This kind of goes to the root on something I've thought for years...

FTL is a radio show... New listeners all the time, etc. Going over the same things over and over works in that format, where that just doesn't fly in the podcast world. (I know there're some RBR listeners around; just look at some of the crazy shit they've done to keep it fresh. If Ian could bring a can of silly-string, or a cap gun, to the studio some day...)

I love FTL, and will always AMP, but I've wondered if it might be time for them to drop much of the podcast aspect, and just concentrate on being the radio show it is.

(And, yeah, I agree that there's been a lot of jibber-jabber recently... If there's no callers, though... No such thing as a boring situation, only boring people. As said, you *could* call in if you have something to say.)

Just my 2 cents (And, armchair quarterbacking, I might add.). Peace.

PS. Vote red bar, idk what "double feature" is.

I don't use gov-worshiping corporate mega-sites like Facebook or MySpace, so I don't really know what I'm talking about, but isn't there an opt-out option of some sort?  If there isn't - why use them?  You lay down with dogs, you get fleas.

Every time I get a spam through Facebook, it reminds me not to vote.

This.

If they break their 14 month or whatever streak, will the status updates stop?!

I think there are better things to do than trying to win a poll on an outdated, obsolete podcast ranking site.

Never mind. I voted. Mark put in good time in my pointless City Council campaign, I can spend 25 seconds to vote.

I'm gonna look for some stuff from Nebraska. Born in the USA was a song I never liked, but most of his stuff is something I'll stop tuning the radio to have a listen at. He and Mike Ness sometimes appear on stage together and it works pretty well.

I do support what FTL is doing as a show but get frustrated whenever the caller is left out of the conversation he called in with. Glad ya liked that lighthearted summary Mark.
