Fat Head (strongly recommended, and currently on Hulu!)

I thought someone mentioned it here, but I couldn't find it, so I'll repost it.  I cannot recommend Fat Head strongly enough, particularly while it's still available on Hulu.

http://www.hulu.com/watch/196879/fat-head

It sounds like a reactionary film in response to SuperSizeMe, but it's much more than that.

It addresses a number of myths about food that may in fact change your life!  It has a lot of interesting health tidbits that are counter to what you've heard, or at least a little different.  I casually watched it the first time, and I'm going to get a copy, watch it again, and keep it around.

It's also available on Netflix instant streaming as of recently, btw.

I've radically altered my diet since I watched that movie and I feel like I'm getting immediate benefits-- eating way less and staying satisfied, not thinking about food all the time, not getting ravenously hungry several times a day like clockwork, sleeping 2 or 3 hours less every night but feeling like I slept just as long, staying alert and not needing a nap practically every day...  I've described it to some people and they said it sounded like I was on my way to type II diabetes from eating the way the average American (and many others around the world now) eats.

I do not think that's an exaggeration.  I too have noticed what I'd describe as an immediate difference, in energy, appetite and attitude.  I'm convinced starches have contributed to depression and an overeating cycle for me, and have already noticed a difference since choosing to opt out of carbs and into meat and dairy over just a few days.

Now I feel like making beef jerky (I enjoy making it the way I want it for myself), as a "healthy" alternative to chips and other crap.  Just boiled more eggs to have on-hand between meals, if desired, too.  Now I understand why a boiled egg and a slice of cheese is an odd "snack" that works so well.

Inside Job - about the recent financial crisis.

At the top of my NF Q now, though it's not out until the 8th.

I thought it did a fine job of pointing out how government always interfers and screws things up. The non-freedom group I watched it with thought that anyways, none of them called for government regulation of the financial markets, which in my book is a success. Everyone thought the bankers and governments worked together to fuck everyone over and most of them now want banks to live and die by their stupid decisions and don't want any of their tax dollars going to banks and stupid government bailout programs. I guess if Ron Paul isn't in a movie sucking Lew Rockwells cock then it's liberal propaganda.

Drag Me to Hell was delightfully cheesy.
