I just finished the last of the "Rome" series, possibly the best thing HBO ever did. Great show! Rumor is it's due to come out as a film.

Have you seen Spartacus series from Starz?  I was thinking about starting them on Netflix and read reviews that said it was better than Rome?

Do you have an opinion?

Fun to watch!  Lots of gratuitous violence and blood spraying!

The documentary was nothing short of one of the best debunkings of bad science I've ever seen and kept me riveted the whole time.  Not necessarily a big fan of the trailer though.  I can see people watching the trailer and then getting turned off to the movie because it seems perhaps a little hyperbolic.  But when you're watching the movie, it's taking you step by step into educating you about what is actually known about HIV/AIDS, which is probably FAR LESS then you've probably been led to believe, before it starts exploring some of the ramifications, which are very disturbing, to say the least.

We'll be discussing this documentary on the next Prometheus Unchained.

Looks interesting. I think this gets back to what the late Dr. Michael Crichton was warning about which is politicized science. Be prepared, though, to be called everything but a human being cause some people have sacred cows they don't like seeing slaughtered by the truth.

Yeah, I'm anticipating that.  Questioning the science practices behind HIV/AIDS is very much akin to questioning any Global Warming Climate Change science.

That's a great take.  State of Fear was a really good book, which I also recommend.  Crichton makes some great points about HCGW (aka AGW) in the afterward, IIRC.

I thought the fiction portion of it was kind of silly but his take on how science should be conducted was dead on.

Looks like a movie that needs to be seen in theaters.

I thought the fiction portion was much like the ecoterrorists behave.

The only thing that bugged me what we Dr. Crichton used the term machinegun when he either meant assault rifle or submachinegun. That and clip instead of the proper term magazine (one of my pet peeves, sorry). But I do agree that the ecofascists acted pretty much how they have shown in the past.

Spartacus is AWESOME.

I just watched "Case 39", it's about a demon child. Pretty good movie.
