anyone see whip it?

If you mean the Drew Barrymore movie, it's not on disk yet, Netflix says "date unknown".

Maybe it wasn't good enough to be cam-shot.

The Gamers: Dorkness Rising.  Low-budget fun for anybody who has played D&D or is familiar with how it works.

We went to see "It's Complicated," because it was the least crowded screen at the theater. And, it was still packed. Not a bad movie, but not really all that complicated.

After school is back in session, we'll tackle "Avatar" on a weekday.

I saw Up in the Air, which was an excellent movie.  I think I'm going to buy the DVD once it's out.  It is essentially the story of a nice guy who allows himself to fall into an incredibly unfulfilling life.  Because of this, he comes across sometimes as an asshole simply because he doesn't relate to most people.  However, he initially (and for many years) thinks his life is great and doesn't begin to realize that he has problems until he glimpses what he could have had if he'd led a different lifestyle.  Saying much more would give away too much :)

Time for the annual watching of Lord of the Rings.
Everyone's home for a couple of days. The weather has taken a turn for the damp & icky.
I'm checking the stockpile of snacks & food for TV room appropriate meals...

...and digging up a few amigurumi patterns to keep my hands busy for 12+ hours of telelvision.

Moon. (mild spoilers in the trailer)

Bag full of high concept sci-fi awesomeness. easily one of the best films of the years (next to Serious Man)

It twists and turns like a twisty turny thing.

sam rockwell puts in a cockstonkingly good performance.

watch it.

"Moon" looks good.

Netflix sent the wrong flick.

I just sat down to watch Flicker, but I'd received Flicka instead... so I'm flicken' 'em off!

Capote.

Fucking brilliant portrayal by Philip Seymour Hoffman, and another great job by Catherine Keener.
