Via Netflix: "This Filthy World."  A stage show by John Waters.  Highlight: he describes what creeps him  out.

Also via Netflix: "Inside Deep Throat."

In a movie that lasted an hour and a half, there was maybe 10 minutes devoted to the fact that Linda Lovelace alleged that her sex scenes were non-consensual.  Her interview time as compared to that of the director, male actor, producer, site host and other talking heads was probably 5%.

I would say it was about 95% freedom of speech, 5% "Was this right/did it make sense/was it actually rape on film."

Last night we watched the excellent The Visitor, which has a strong libertarian theme of social tolerance and the inhumanity of immigration laws. The 1998 film won numerous awards, and is rated 90% on Rotten Tomatoes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Visitor_(2008_film)

Is there any prefix of Deep Throat that doesn't still sound like a porn?

I might have watched that. Might have been a different film. In an interview with her after the film was made she spoke about how proud she was about doing the film. It wasnt until after someone or other convinced her that porn was bad that she started claiming that it wasnt consensual.

Just finished "Duck Soup" on Youtube...I think that it's the funniest MB movie, but I still consider "Animal Crackers" my favorite.  I found a book at the library once that was simply the script of "Animal Crackers", and couldn't quit laughing at it.

Is there any question that the Marx Brothers are funnier than the Three Stooges?

That was my suspicion, but I was bothered that the documentary didn't really discuss that.  They just kind of skated by the issue.

Actually, I didn't like Duck Soup—but still agree that the Marx Brothers beat the Three Stooges any day.

I watched S21: The Khmer Rouge Killing Machine.  It's a documentary, but worth watching.
